Naturgy obtained a net profit of 592 million euros in the first half of the year, compared to losses of 3,281 million euros in the same period last year as a result of the impairment of almost 4,900 million euros pointed by the group for the depreciation carried out by its assets, especially generation in Spain, reported the energy.
Excluding non-recurring items, the group’s ordinary net profit was 692 million euros, an increase of 30% compared to the first half of last year, mainly due to improved activity and lower depreciation.
The evolution of business abroad in the period allowed Naturgy to compensate for the lack of growth in distribution in Spain, the slowdown in deregulated businesses and a mild climate in the period.
According to the company, the first year of operation since it launched its new strategic plan 2018-2022 was completed in the first half of the year, fulfilling its commitments.
