The Diplomat
The V Edition of the Excelentia Awards for Culture will take place next June 6th, under the Honorary Presidency of Queen Sofia. The event will take place in the Symphonic Hall of the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, followed by a concert entitled La Noche mágica de la ópera y la zarzuela (The Magic Night of Opera and Zarzuela), with a selection of large fragments of operas by Verdi, Donizetti, Mozart, Puccini, and the best zarzuelas ever.
The list of winners in different categories is as follows: Fundación Telefónica e Ibercaja, Pedro Lavirgen, Yoav Levanon, Asociación A+Música, Compañía Nacional de Danza de España, Medici TV, Sinfonía por el Perús (Fundación Juan Diego Flórez and Músicos por la Salud.
The most outstanding soloists of the lyric gala that will take place afterwards will be Simón Orfila, José Luis Sola, Angel Cortes, María Ruiz, Gema Scabal, Enrique Ferrer and Antonio Vázquez, with the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia as the person in charge of putting the musical notes under the direction of the maestro Miquel Ortega.
