‘El Canon’ and Instituto Cervantes introduce Rocío Márquez

June 13, 2019
in Entertainment, Leisure

Instituto Cervantes and El Canon, a flamenco art magazine, present an action-presentation of the Spanish tasting artist Rocío Márquez on Monday 17 June at 6.30 pm. Entrance from Barquillo Street. Christina Rosenvinge, Torres Pardo, and the editor and designer of El Canon, Agapito Pageo and Emilio Gil, respectively, will take part alongside the artist.

From the age of nine, Rocío Márquez received flamenco courses at the Peña Flamenca de Huelva, where she began to make herself known. He was confirmed in 2008 at the Festival del Cante de Las Minas, where he won five awards, including the Lámpara Minera prize. His crystalline expression is far from the rough and torn aesthetics usually associated with flamenco. He is also esteemed for his way of modulating Andalusian singing.
