With the collaboration of the Embassy of Chile and the Fundación Chile España, the play Cactus, solo lo morir lo que se olvida (Cactus only dies what is forgotten) will be presented next Monday, June 3 at the Centro Cultural Valdebernardo (Bulevar de Indalecio Prieto, 21) at 6:30 p.m., an adaptation of the classic by Shakespeare, Romeo and Julieta by the music-theatre company Manantial de Ilusión, which includes 26 Chilean actors and musicians with Down syndrome. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
The play “Cactus, only what is forgotten dies” will kick off the Third International Congress of the T21 Research Society. In the words of the executive director of the Down Syndrome Center UC, Macarena Lizama, “it is a very important milestone that we have been invited to inaugurate this congress. It is a recognition of the work that these young people have done for so long and that shows that they can do great things like anyone else.
