Nicaragua was the guest country, last Friday, at the Jornadas Gastronómicas de Cuaresma (Lent Gastronomic Conference) of Orihuela, declared of international tourist interest and organized by the Board of the Holy Week.
The event, held at the Convent of San Francisco, was attended by the Nicaraguan Ambassador, Carlos Midence, and the Minister Counsellor, Milagros Urbina. Both made a review of the historical and heritage attractions of the Central American country, in addition to its gastronomic potential.
The gastronomic sample included the traditional fish cakes, cheese soup, syrup and the popular ‘repochetas’. Also, a promotional video was presented and tourist material was distributed, which was very well received by the attendees, among which were local authorities, businessmen, academics, journalists and writers.
