Until next May 17, the Royal Tapestry Factory of Madrid (Calle Fuenterrabía, 2) exhibits ‘Scoarţe’: The image of the world woven in wool as well as Heritage Tools of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History of the Republic of Moldova. It is the first exhibition of this Museum in Spain and Western Europe.
The exhibition has been organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Spain together with the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History of Chisinau and in collaboration with the Royal Tapestry Factory. It consists of a selection of 24 oldest and representative “Scoarţe” from the 18th and 19th centuries. “Scoarţe” is the term by which a type of traditional textiles of various forms of use is originally named: wall hanging or bed cover, benches, other domestic furniture.
