On March 30, the Centro Riojano de Madrid was named Honorary Member of the Rioja Wine Brotherhood. The commemoration acts began the previous day with a tasting of 7 wines from Rioja offered by the Grand Master of the Wine Brotherhood, Javier Gracia, together with the president of the Centro Riojano in Madrid, José Antonio Rupérez Caño. Attending this act were the ambassadors of Bulgaria, Ivan Kondov, and Vietnam, Ngo Tien Dung.
“It is a great honor and a pride and satisfaction to receive on behalf of the Rioja Center of Madrid the most prestigious award that the Brotherhood of the Wine of La Rioja bestows,” began the president of the Centre, in the act of appointment as Cofrade de Honor. “From Centro Riojano”, he continued, “we have spent 118 years dedicating our efforts to work for La Rioja, our beloved homeland, from the very heart of Madrid. Among our functions is the diffusion of Riojan values, which we dedicate to promoting with great honor and more or less successes”.
José Antonio Rupérez highlighted among all the acts of the institution the International Tastings, of which seven have already been celebrated, and two Ambassadors’ Tastings, “our most illustrious event”.
To finish the act, attendees were offered some snacks and Rioja wine.
