Cypriot city of Pafos will host next Wednesday, December 5, the delivery of the School Prizes 2018 of the NGO Peace and Cooperation, which were failed last October 24, United Nations Day, in Madrid.
Under the motto “Galaxy of Peace: space, common heritage of humanity”, this campaign has had the active participation of the ambassador of Cyprus in Spain, Koula Sophianou.
Pafos City Council and the Ministry of Education of Cyprus have also been involved in the organization of the ceremony, in which their awards will be presented to the 26 award-winning schoolchildren from Mexico, Latvia, Spain, Cyprus, China and Iran.
The award ceremony, in addition to the winners, will be attended by the UNOOSA director, Simonette Di Pippo, the president and founder of Peace and Cooperation, Joaquín Antuña, the mayor of Pafos, Phedonas Phedonos, and the second chief of the Spanish Embassy in Nicosia, Helena Cosano.
The NGO Peace and Cooperation instituted these Awards since it was designated ‘Messenger of Peace’ in the United Nations in 1986. Since 2005 the awards have been delivered in various cities around the world.
