An exhibition in the Alhóndiga de Segovia reviews the life of the student Jan Palach and, especially, his self-immolation in January 1969, setting himself on fire in Prague’s Wenceslas Square to protest for the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in August 1968.
The inauguration will take place November 14 at 6 pm. In MUCES will be also screened the first chapter of The Burning Bush, the award-winning three-episode telefilm about the Jan Palach act, filmed for HBO by the Polish director Agnieszka Holland, who will present it in person in Segovia.
