Organized by the Italian Institute of Culture, the 11th edition of the Italian Film Festival opens today in Madrid until November 28. The traditional Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented this year to Laura Morante (pictured).
The Festival is divided into three sections: short films, documentaries (the award will be granted by a Spanish jury) and feature films that will compete for the public’s prize. The films have been selected among the latest Italian film productions presented at 2018 festivals, such as Cannes, Toronto, Venice, Locarno and Rome. All are premieres in Spain, screened in original version with subtitles in Spanish, at Renoir Princesa Cinema, a reference point for auteur cinema in the Spanish capital. Admission is free.
