CUP-Capgirem councilor in the City Council of Barcelona Eulàlia Reguant asked the municipal government yesterday not to lend the Sant Jordi pool so that a match between the women’s water polo teams of Spain and Israel is played today.
Reguant, who also encouraged to participate in a protest in support of the Palestinian people, said that “sports teams are tools of national construction, and in the case of Israel is a national construction forged by blood and fire in colonized territory”.
