The Embassy of Italy promotes an agreement between the Agency for Employment of the City Council of Madrid, the Spanish association Transexualia and the Italian Chamber of Commerce to develop a programme of professional reinvention aimed at transsexual and transgender people. With that, it intends to increase their chances of training and integration into the labour market.
The Italian Ambassador, Stefano Sannino, Madrid’s mayor, Manuela Carmena, and the delegate of the Area of Equity, Marta Higueras, were present at the event in which Belén García Díaz, manager of the Agency for Employment of the City Council of Madrid, Marco Silvio Pizzi, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, and Cristina Jiménez, secretary of Transexualia, took part as signatories.
Ambassador Sannino emphasized that “the agreement is part of the line of action of the Embassy to strengthen collaboration of the System Italy with the local institutions in favour of social projects”.
