On the occasion of the Centenary of the Recovery of Poland’s Independence being celebrated this year, The Fryderyk Chopin Institute, in collaboration with TVP (Polish Television), organizes the first edition of the International Competition of Historical Piano Fryderyk Chopin, which will take place in Warsaw from 2 to 14 September 2018. The competition will take place every five years.
Pianist of any nationality aged between 18 and 35 years old will be able to participate in this competition. The jury will be made up of people with international merit and prestige. The competition will consist of three qualifying parts: the first and second one will be solo piano recitals. All the competitors will perform a work by Chopin and another one by Johann Sebastian Bach. Registration has been open since 1 February. Application forms will be available on the competition’s website.
