France’s Ambassador to Spain, Yves Saint-Geours, granted, on 6 January, the insignia of Officer of the National Order of Merit to General Juan Gómez de Salazar Mínguez, head of the Land Forces of the Spanish Army.

“He always proved great friendship with France”, the ambassador declared during the ceremony, which took place in Seville on the sidelines of the parade of the Pascua Militar (the start of the military year), according to information provided by the Embassy.

Saint-Geours praised the role played by General Gómez de Salazar in the cooperation between the armed forces of both countries and he remembered his participation in the exchange of experiences relating to the fight against terrorism and the “one hundred joint operations” carried out in 2017.
