Nicaragua’s Ambassador, Carlos Midence, met Zaragoza’s mayor, Pedro Santisteve, last week, within the framework of the celebrations for the 39th anniversary of the Nicaraguan Revolution (38/19) in Spain. The minister counsellor with Consular Functions, Milagros Urbina, and the deputy mayoress, Luisa Broto Bernués, also participated in the meeting, whose objective was to go more deeply into business relations and to consolidate the ties between Zaragoza and the Nicaraguan town of Leon, with which it is twinned.
Midence, according to the Nicaraguan daily El 19, transmitted the greetings of Nicaragua’s President, Daniel Ortega, and his Government, and he explained the progress made by the Central American country in the last decade, as well as the main investment sectors and the trade agreements signed with different nations. For his part, Santisteve affirmed that Nicaragua is an interesting country to invest in, and he announced that, in September, he will travel there to celebrate the 25 years Zaragoza and Leon have been twinned.
