Francesca Ancarola and the guitar player Simón Schriever, members of the duo Ancarola, are performing this afternoon at 19:00 hrs, at Casa América. They are offering a repertoire that includes a selection of songs by the Chilean artist and other songs by emblematic authors such as Víctor Jara and Violeta Parra, whose death anniversary is being celebrated in 2017. Free entry, limited capacity.
Francesca is a Chilean composer and performer, whose musical work combines the richness of the South American folklore with colours and structures typical of jazz. On this occasion, she is accompanied by the also Chilean guitarist, composer and arranger Simón Schriever, who has been musical manager and leader of the recod project Verdevioleta (2007), a connection between poetry and popular singing traditions of Violeta Parra.
