The Foreign Minister, Alfonso Dastis, praised yesterday the “excellent” role played by Mauritania in the Sahel in the fight against terrorism, in “a region facing important challenges”.
During a visit to Mauritania, the minister admitted that the country is an “important factor of stability” in the area, and transmitted to the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Abdel Aziz, and the rest of the authorities he met, Spain’s will to keep collaborating in the fight against illegal immigration and terrorism, as well as cooperation.
