The Foreign Minister, Alfonso Dastis, held a meeting yesterday with the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, in which both parties agreed to intensify collaboration in the defence and promotion of the Humanitarian International Law, in the efficiency of humanitarian assistance and in the creation of conditions to prevent armed conflicts.
Besides, Dastis and Maurer shared their concern about the humanitarian crises in different countries of the world and the high number of displaced people and refugees. They also exchanged impressions about some of the most serious humanitarian crises, such as that in Syria.
