The secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ildefonso Castro, insisted yesterday that Spain advocates “a solution, according to the parameters established by the United Nations”, to the conflict of the Western Sahara.
At a seminar on the strategic role of the Canaries in the relationship Spain-Mauritania, held at Casa África, in Las Palmas, Castro emphasized that “regarding the matter of the Western Sahara, the position of the Spanish Government has not changed”. “It does not matter the party in the Government, it is a matter in which I believe the approach is a State approach”, he pointed out.
