On Wednesday, the Romanian Minister of Tourism, Mircea-Titus Dobre, presented in Madrid The Danube Delta Evening-The untouched land of beauty, nature and wilderness, as a priority objective of his country’s tourism promotion.
Dobre also confirmed, before the secretary general of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and other authorities, that Romania is a candidate to be part of the Executive Board of this organization, of which it is a founding member, for the 2018-2021 period.
For his part, Taleb Rifai, leaning on the strains of the Blue Danube by Strauss, encouraged those present to visit this delta “at least once in their life”, because “it is magical”.
The reception offered at the Santoña Palace was attended by many foreign ministers of tourism, Spanish authorities and representatives of the sector. The minister emphasized before all of them that the promotion of the Danube Delta “fits perfectly into the context of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development”.
An exhibition by the Spanish photographer Pototo, which reflects the wonderful sceneries in this area, was presented throughout the evening. Besides, there was a preview of the episode of the documentary series “Planeta selva. Los últimos grandes bosques del Planeta”, produced by Terra Incógnita and dedicated to the Danube Delta.
The visit of the Romanian Minister of Tourism started with his participation in the meeting Business to Business (B2B) in which he presented his priorities to representatives of the sector in Spain and to Romanian tour operators. Before that, Mircea-Titus Dobre met Spain’s secretary of Tourism, Matilde Asian, to explore new opportunities of collaboration between Romania and Spain.
