The Embassy of Italy will celebrate its National Day’s reception for the first time outside its premises. And it will also be the first to make a diplomatic reception open to the general public from next Friday to Sunday.
The coordinator of Madrid’s Mayor Office, Luis Cueto, and the Italian Ambassador, Stefano Sannino, presented yesterday at a press conference the program of this event, named Passione Italia and whose godmother will be the artist Rafaella Carrá.
In those three days, all the people of Madrid will know the best of #VivereALLitaliana; will participate in pizza workshops for children or in DJs performances for not so children; will be attending showcooking, exhibitions of music and traditional pizzica dance; or tasting the traditional Italian food in about a dozen food trucks.
The Conde Duque venue will become the #ITmakES Village, a space dedicated to digital design and production, one of the strengths of this Mediterranean country, which becomes the thread of Passione Italia.
Until this year, the celebration had always taken place in the premises of the Italian Institute and was focused on the Italian colony, which in Madrid is made up of about 31,500 people.
“Now a new space, the Conde Duque Cultural Centre, opens in a gesture that reflects the will of the City Council, the Embassy, the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Spain and all the Italian institutions in Madrid for bringing closer and closer ties between both communities which have many points in common”, said their promoters yesterday.
