This afternoon at 19:30 hrs, Casa Árabe is screening an Emirati documentary directed by Nujoom Alghamen about the life of the Bedouin healer Hamama. Screening in original version with Spanish subtitles.
Hamama is a nonagenarian Bedouin healer whose reputation spreads over the Emirates thanks to her special gift to cure illnesses and to work the most unimaginable miracles. Many of her patients go to see her every day to her house looking for the remedies to their illness. The most incredible thing is that Hamama is not a doctor or physiotherapist, and she does not use the latest technology; she uses archaic methods of the millenary tradition, such as moxibustion, massages, herbs and natural spices to do her magic.
