The president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, will receive next December 14 in Madrid the Nueva Economía Fórum 2016 Award for Economic Development and Social Cohesion, as this organization said yesterday. The ceremony will be presided by the President of the Government of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, and will be attended by the President of the Congress of Deputies, Ana Pastor.
The award, which will take place at the Teatro Real in Madrid, has been awarded “in recognition of Spanish society to the Colombian people for their long and deep friendship and cooperation in Spain, in the economic, social and political spheres”.
At the same time, according to Nueva Economía Fórum, it represents a recognition to the president of Colombia “for his efforts and those of the Colombian society to achieve the desired peace and to face the future challenges of economic and social development.”
