At the beginning of December, the Royal Palace of Madrid presented the exhibition Carlos III. Majesty and Decoration in the scenes of the Erudite King, which commemorates the third centenary of this Monarch’s birth. The exhibition, organized by National Heritage, will be open until 31 March 2017 at the Temporary Exhibition Halls of the Royal Palace of Madrid.
The monarch, a learned sovereign and a patron of the arts, is the most unquestionable model in the productive relationship between the Crown and Spain’s Culture during the Early Modern Period. His government, as well as the great public works he promoted, meant the state intervention in aesthetic aspects to a large extent.
