The Goethe Institute of Madrid presents, this afternoon at 19:30 hrs, the book Franziska Linkerhand, by Brigitte Reimann, a fundamental work of the German narrative of the 20th century translated, for the first time, into Spanish.
The work is about a young architect thirsty for life, who has to deal with the socialist everyday life in the industrial town of Neustadt. While she was working in the last chapter, in January 1973, the author had to be admitted to hospital and died shortly after. She was probably close to finishing it.
