The president of the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ Organizations (CEOE in its Spanish acronym), Juan Rosell, met, at the beginning of October, the Ibero-American ambassadors accredited in Spain, with whom he analysed the economic and social situation in Spain and the relations with Latin America.
During the meeting, Rosell emphasized “the great bet of the Spanish companies in the field of exportation and the progress made from 2006, the year in which there were 100,000 exporting companies, to the present moment, in which there are more than 150,000”, according to information of the CEOE in a press release.
The president of the Employers’ Organization also highlighted the fact that the export of goods and services already represents 33% of the GDP and emphasized the role of the Spanish investment abroad and of the foreign investment in Spain.
During the meeting, the director of Institutional and International Relations of CEOE, Narciso Casado, referred to the XI Ibero-American Business Meeting, which will take place on 27 and 28 October in Cartagena de Indias and which will tackle matters such as entrepreneurship, education and employability of the youth.

The conclusions on these matters, according to the Confederation, will be subsequently given to the heads of State and Government that will meet on 28 and 29 October in the Colombian city on the occasion of the XXV Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
Narciso Casado also remembered that, in June 2015, the presidents of the Ibero-American business organizations agreed on the creation of the Ibero-American Business Council (CEIB in its Spanish acronym), of which the 22 most representative business organizations of the Latin American countries (among them the CEOE) are members and whose presidency currently corresponds to the national business association of Colombia (ANDI in its Spanish acronym), host country of the Ibero-American Summit.
