The programme of the visit to be made by Barack Obama to Spain has not been closed yet, although some details are already known, both about his stay in Madrid and in Seville, where he will arrive on 9 July from Warsaw.
According to information provided to The Diplomat, the US President was offered the possibility of staying at the Real Alcázar of Seville, which is Europe’s oldest royal palace and where usually the members of the Royal House and heads of state visiting the city stay. However, Obama declined the invitation and plans to stay at a central hotel of Seville.
Although part of his delegation could stay at the Colón Hotel, everything seems to indicate, according to the security movements observed, that Obama, and his closest collaborators, will stay at the Alfonso XIII Hotel, which has accommodated illustrious figures such as the Prince Carlos and Princess Diana of Wales in 1992 or a large number of North American actors and actresses, such as Tom Cruise, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt or Bruce Sprinsgteen.
