He Ping, editor-in-chief of China’s Xinhua News Agency last Thursday met with Jose Antonio Vera, president of Spain’s news agency EFE, pledging further cooperation between the two sides, Xinhua reports.

During the meeting in Spain’s capital Madrid, He said Xinhua stands ready to work with EFE to strengthen its role as a bridge between the two countries and help the public better understand the China-Spain “comprehensive strategic partnership”.

Vera, for his part, said he was impressed by the tremendous progress Xinhua has made in developing its core news business during his visit last year.

He voiced hope that He’s visit to Madrid would lead to further cooperation and exchange between the two sides in the future.
