The Diplomat. 29/01/2016
The dinner being offered tomorrow 30 January by Thailand’s Embassy, within the framework of Madrid Fusión, will be the first public event for the new ambassador appointed by the Thai Government to Spain, Rattikul Chansuriya, who replaces her predecessor, Busaya Mathelin, as The Diplomat had previously revealed.
The new head of the Thai Mission in Madrid has already presented the Copies of her Credentials to the Foreign Ministry, but she still has not had the chance to present her Credentials to the King, since she arrived in Madrid after the last ceremony, celebrated on 16 December.
Rattikul Chansuriya was, when she was appointed ambassador to Spain, director of the department of European Affairs. She had previously worked as deputy director general for the department of International Economic Affairs and as vice-consul general of Thailand in the Chinese city of Nanning, among other positions.
This year, Thailand is the guest country invited by the organization of Madrid’s gastronomic congress, which has been celebrated since 2003. To show its current cuisine, the Embassy has brought the famous chef of the restaurant Blue Elephant, Nooror Somany-Steppe, and his daughter Sandra, from Bangkok.
