The French Institute of Madrid continues it cinema series “Artist life”, and, this afternoon at 20:00 hrs, it screens the film Renoir, directed by Gilles Bourdos. The film is being screened in French with Spanish subtitles.
The French Riviera, 1915. Auguste Renoir, in the twilight of his life, is tormented by the loss of his wife, arthritis and the news that his son has been injured at war. However, when a young lady comes into his world, the painter feels a new energy. She radiates life, she is beautiful, Andrée will become his last model. Jean comes back home to recover and he also falls under the spell of the red-haired star that shines in Renoir’s sky.
