The Secretary of State for Iberoamérica, Jesús Gracia, held a new round of annual political consultations with the Caribbean ambassadors accredited to the EU, yesterday, in the Madrid headquarters of Casa América.

At these high level talks, Spain and its Caribbean counterparts reviewed their bilateral relations as well as topics of regional and global interest such as the energy initiative, climate change and the prevention of natural disasters.

In addition, there was an exchange of opinions at the meeting, on the future of the Cotonou Agreement, the framework that covers EU relations with the ACP countries in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific, until 2020, and which is currently being reviewed at a European level.
