The Philippine President, Benigno Aquino III, has nominated the new Ambassador of his country to Madrid. She is Celia Anna Feria, a veteran diplomat who knows Spain well.

Celia Anna “Cookie” Feria has been Head of Protocol at the Philippines Presidency since January 2013 which position she held after having been the Philippine Ambassador to Spain and,  having previously occupied several positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the diplomatic representation to which she now returns, Feria was second in command and Consul General in Madrid, where she was serving during the visit to Spain in 2010 made by the then Philippine President, Gloria Macapagal.

Celia Anna Feria, who served in Spain from June 2009 until September 2013 coincided in the Embassy for a period of time with the outgoing ambassador, Carlos Salinas Conde, who was appointed in May 2011.
