Iraq’s new ambassador to Spain, Alaa Majid Al-Hashimy, is already in Madrid, according to information provided to The Diplomat. Al-Hashimy, who replaces Wadee al Batti in the position. He has a broad diplomatic experience and he was the first ambassador to Germany after the fall of Sadam Hussein’s regime.

Al-Hashimy, who has been ambassador to Japan during the last years, presented the copies of his credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a few days ago, which allow him to act as Iraq’s representative in Spain, although he still has to present his Credentials before the King.
