The Palestinian Minister of Tourism, Rula Maaya, and Palestine’s Ambassador to Spain, Musa Amer Odeh, invite you to the commemoration of the 51st anniversary of the Palestinian revolution, whose event will take place on Saturday 23 January at 19:00 hrs, at the Centro Cultural Eduardo Úrcul (5 Donoso Square, Madrid), Metro Ventilla (line 9).

The Folk Group BAQUN, of the Palestinian city of Bethlehem, will delight those present with its performances of Dabka and music. Dabka, which means “to make great strides” in the Arab language, is the typical Palestinian dance. Men and women line up and make great strides following the way the leader of the group indicates. The name of this typical Palestinian dance comes from the old tradition of tapping with one’s foot on mud. Clapping and screams accompany this beautiful dance, which celebrates the most important events, from births to marriages.
