Exploring incredible landscapes, working as volunteers to take care of pandas or learning Chinese in its country of origin are some of the proposals made by China’s Tourism Office in FITUR, where five Chinese provinces will be promoted this year: Zhejian, Tianjin, Chengde, Jilin and Guangdong.
China’s tourist authorities want to use the wide range of possibilities that it can offer to its foreign visitors. Therefore, it has prepared an amazing promotion that includes the main appeals of five of its provinces.
Zhejian’s pagodas and monasteries, Tianjin’s birdwatching and nature, the legend that goes with the historic Mountain Residence of Chengde, Jilin’s frosted trees, and the mix of landscapes and cities offered by Guangdong (Canton) are only some of those appeals.
Besides, China has set in motion “Avatar Express”, which will have several routes. Depending on the time travellers want to dedicate, the train departs from Beijing to get, with stops in Xi’an and other cities, to the National Forest Park of Zhangjiajie, the spectacular “Avatar mountains”.
Tibet is also part of the tourist promotion, after having had limited access during the last years. There will be four travel programmes to the capital, Lhasa, by train.
However, not everything is about contemplating sceneries, visiting cities or historic buildings. Those wishing to work as volunteers will be able, for example, to join the Panda Conservation Centre in Chengdu. Those wanting to learn Chinese for business reasons or to learn more about the culture will be able to take specific course prepared by the Confucio Institute for Spanish learners, both in China and on the Internet.
