On Thursday 28 January at 19:30 hrs, at the National Auditorium of Music of Madrid, the Philharmonic presents the Cologne Radio Orchestra, a group dedicated to perform jazz and American music from the 20th century, and Wayne Marshall (in the photo), one of the most internationally famous experts in this repertoire, with an American night through different works by Gershwin and Bernstein.
Orchestra and director will offer a programme dedicated to two great North American composers of the 20th century, George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein. Under the crossover of “blues” rhythms, spirituals and jazz, Hollywood and Broadway will be present in selected works, Rhapsody in Blue and Gerswhin in Hollywood by Gershwin and the famous Symphony dances of West Side Story by Bernstein, among others.
