As from tomorrow 20 January and running until 7 February, the Teatros del Canal in Madrid are presenting Las tres hermanas by the Russian writer Anton Chekhov. A theatre company decides to fulfil its dream of performing Tres hermanas. The work tells us that change is necessary but the characters are incapable of going through with it. Failure to accept these changes is what impedes them from achieving their goals.
Chekhov’s Tres hermanas has at its centre the unhappy life of the orphan sisters in a small Russian provincial town in which an artillery brigade is stationed, the only lively stimulus of this sleepy place. More information from the theatre website.
