The Cervantes Institute in Madrid (Alcalá, 49) will commence a cycle of concerts in 2016 under the generic title of Tardes Musicales (Musical Evenings) which intends to reclaim, recapture and promote the music of the Hispanic people. An ode to their artistic, musical and ethnographic heritage. Ismael Fernández de la Cuesta will be the musical adviser for this cycle and will be assisted by the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Spanish Musicology Society.
Ángel García Jermann on the violoncello and Kennedy Moretti at the piano will be those responsible for opening the cycle tomorrow Tuesday 19 March at 19.30hrs. with a concert in which they present their latest work Melodías, Romanzas y Nocturnos. A recording that forms part of a research project for the recovery of the Spanish musical patrimony. A large number of the pieces included in this album are linked to the figure of the violoncellist Víctor Mirecki, an essential musical reference in the Madrid and Spanish musical scene at the end of the XIX century.
