The Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX in its Spanish acronym) will allocate 4.5 million euros to support the internationalization of non-exporting Spanish SMEs and of those with non-consolidated exports, through the ICEX Next programme.

The programme, according to a press release issued by the organization, offers personalized counselling by experts to design a plan in order to project their companies abroad and to improve their foreign competitiveness, helping them throughout all the stages in the process.

The plan’s objective is to help companies to internationalize their business, to increase their foreign turnover diversifying business risks and to improve their global competitiveness. Through ICEX Next, companies will have more than 13,000 euros for 18 months for expenses related to their internationalization.

ICEX Next was set in motion in 2012 and, since then, 1,449 companies have taken part in it, most of them with services and industrial profiles. According to ICEX, there has been a significant increase of the exporting regularity in the first companies that benefited from the programme.
