With the presence of the secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Ybáñez, and India’s Ambassador to Spain, Vikram Misri, singer Bindu Sabramaniam inaugurated the series of activities scheduled in Madrid to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Spanish-Indian relations.
A concert by singer Bindu Subramaniam and her band took place at the cultural centre CaixaForum of Madrid, within the framework of cultural activities that the Indian Embassy has programmed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of relations between its country and Spain. Lakshminarayana Subramaniam, Bindu’s father and a violin player, performed at the end of the concert.
The music event was attended by the secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Ybáñez Rubio, and India’s Ambassador, Vikram Misri, who were accompanied by Belgium’s Ambassador, Pierre Labouverie, and Sweden’s Ambassador, Cecilia Julin.
The audience could enjoy not only Bindu’s evocative and hypnotic voice, but also the virtuosity of her father and brother, Lakshminarayana and Ambi, respectively, in a natural crossover of elements mixing soft rock and jazz with traditional Indian music.
