From 16 to 30 January, the Royal Theatre will offer twelve shows of The Magic Flute, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), in a production by the Komische Oper of Berlin, which, from its premiere in 2012, has been presented in several theatres and festivals without a break. After coming to Madrid, the production will visit Paris and Barcelona.
The success of this stage and drama proposal lies in its huge ability to communicate with the public, its humour, its creativity and the winks to the audience through a visual universe as known as that of silent films of the twenties. Coinciding with the shows of The Magic Flute, the Royal Theatre has organized a series of parallel activities related to Mozart’s opera and with silent films of the twenties that inspired the production’s stage and drama proposal.
