Yesterday, the Government “roundly” condemned the terrorist attack perpetrated against a mosque in Kuyape, in the north of Cameroon, which claimed the lives of at least 13 people. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Executive sent its “profound condolences” for the people, authorities and relatives of Cameroon’s victims, and expressed its hope for those injured to recover soon.
Besides, the Government expressed its hope for the “accomplices and instigators” of the attack to be taken before Justice as soon as possible, while reiterating its solidarity, not only with Cameroon, but also with all the member States of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in its fight against terrorism and, in particular, the Nigerian group Boko Haram, the most active in the region.
