Author: Arturo Pérez-Reverte.

The writer Arturo Pérez-Reverte signing his essay La guerra civil contada a los jóvenes (Spanish Civil War told for youngsters, in which he shows the struggle of the Spanish Civil War, concisely, objectively and meticulously, without partisan clichés, without simplistic labels. The work is splendidly illustrated by Fernando Vicente.

“Almost eighty years ago, between 1936 and 1939, in the times of our grandparents and great-grandparents, a dreadful civil war took place in Spain. It caused thousands of deaths, destroyed homes, ruined the country and sent many people into exile. In order to ensure that such a heartbreaking tragedy is never ever repeated, it is essential to record how it happened. So that useful conclusions can be reached from that awful occurrence on peace and coexistence that must never ever be lost. Terrible lessons that we must never ever forget”, Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
