‘Agenda 2016’ with 12 Shakespearean soliloquies

Vaso Roto Ediciones is celebrating the four hundred anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death with the publication of a diary, the Agenda 2016 devoted to celebrating the incomparable dramatic force of a work that continues to seduce readers with its great psychological insight and the expressive richness of his style. The publishers have brought together twelve poet-translators (six Mexican and six Spaniards) in view of the double origin or nationality of this edition, to choose and translate into Spanish their favourite Shakespearean monologue.  And the classic iconography (particularly from the XIX century and the end of the XVII) has been combed to create a parallel set of illustrations which show the many graphic interpretations that this work has deserved. The result is a lovely almanac that brings us close to Shakespeare through his great soliloquies: the enraged tirades of Lear, the disappearing doubt of Hamlet, the sleepless hallucinations of Macbeth, the exhortations of Henry V, the eloquent  curses of the Lady Anne, the thousand and one faces of Richard III (the great villain of this round up of characters), etcetera…
