The new mayor of La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz), Juan Franco, makes today his first official visit to Gibraltar to meet the Chief Minister, Fabián Picardo, in a debate on “cross-border cooperation”. The seat of the Rock’s Government, located at 6 Convent Place, is the place chosen for the meeting between the leader of the platform La Línea 100×100, who became mayor of La Línea after four years of Government PSOE-PA, and Picardo.
The City Council has explained that this is an “institutional meeting” where he will try to transmit Picardo “the wish of cooperating in different sectors to the advantage of our citizens, as well as making clear our hope of promoting the investment of Gibraltarian companies in La Línea”. Franco had already expressed his support to the good relations with the Rock and, according to the Government of Gibraltar, “he has personally taken control of the cross-border relations for mutual benefit”.
