‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’, chosen best musical of 2014

 

The 8th Edition of the Musical Theatre Awards, which value the best musicals presented the previous year in different categories, took place on Monday, at the Sanpol Theatre of Madrid.

 

The most awarded productions were Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (Best Musical, Best Breakout Actor, Best Costume Designer, and Best Makeup and Hairdressing), Thrill me (Best Stage Management, Best Leading Actor, and Best Lighting Design), Mar i Cel (Best Stage Design, Best Sound Design, and Best Cast Actress) and Sister Act (Best Leading Actress and Best Musical Direction). The Especial Crea Award was granted to the actor, director, scriptwriter and adapter in stage and audiovisual arts Jesús Sanz Sebastián; the Honorary Award was granted to the theatre director Mario Gas; and the Especial Award was granted to the school SCAENA Víctor Ullate Roche.
