The expenditure of international tourists registered a new record in the first four months of the year, with 15,919 million euros, which means an increase of 7.2% compared to the same period of 2014, according to the Survey of Tourist Expenditure (EGATUR in its Spanish acronym), carried out by the General Subdepartment of Tourist Studies and Knowledge of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
Visitors from the United Kingdom are still those spending the most and, from January to April, these paid out 2,887 million euros with an increase of 11.9%. The French and the Italian also register rises in expenditure, with 17.7% and 28.6% more, respectively.
