Tourism activity in Spain generated, in the first trimester of 2015, 69,303 new jobs in total, 5.3% more than in the same period of 2014, according to data from the last poll carried out by Exceltur (Alianza para la Excelencia Turística).
In addition, this sector registered, between January and March 2015, a 3.5% increase in terms of the GDP, compared to the same period in 2014. This increase is due, including the Easter holidays, to the continued growth in the Spanish demand (up +10%), to the increase in confidence, and to the increase in disposable income, encouraged by the generation of employment.
