Russia’s Railway company informed yesterday, in a statement, that the last tests of the four high speed trains of the Spanish Talgo that will connect Moscow to the city of Nizhny Novgorod, 400 kilometres away from the Russian capital, are about to conclude.
The four Talgo were initially acquired to connect Moscow to Kiev, but the Ukrainian crisis and the deterioration of relations between Russia and Ukraine changed the plans for the use of the trains. These will now be used to connect the capital to Nizhny Novgorod, the fifth most important city in Russia, with a population of 1.25 million people.
