Repsol buys the Canadian Talisman Energy for more than 10,300 million

The Spanish energy multinational Repsol has agreed to acquire 100% of the social capital of the Canadian company Talisman Energy, to the value of 6,640 million euros, in addition to a debt of 3,760 million euros. The operation has been valued favourably and recommended to its shareholders by the Board of Directors of the Canadian company unanimously.

 

The operation will make Repsol one of the main private energy groups in the world, with greater presence in countries of the OECD, by incorporating reserves and production in countries with great geopolitical stability, according to information provided by the Spanish company yesterday.
